Jen Duell (Tolland, Conn./Tolland) has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball at Siena beginning in the fall. Duell, a 2008 Connecticut High School Coach's Association All-Star, joins four incoming recruits who signed their letters in the fall.

"Jen attended our winter clinic and really impressed us with her work ethic and her aggressive approach at the plate," head coach Deanna Parks said. "Her ability to play several key positions makes her a great fit for our program, and I have no doubt that she will be a tremendous addition to the Siena community. Jen rounds out a talented group of incoming freshmen who are expected to make an immediate impact on our softball program."

Duell will see action at shortstop and behind the dish for the Saints beginning in 2009. She was named the Tolland High School Female Student-Athlete of the Year after completing her fourth year as a varsity starter in 2008. Duell was an All-League selection the past three seasons and competed three years on the varsity soccer and track teams. In the summer, she has played five seasons of travel ball for the CT Eliminators.

Duell is a Presidential scholar at Siena. She joins a Siena program that went 16-33 in a rebuilding year this past spring.
