Loughridge and Goodwin Tabbed 2007 All-MAAC Selections

Loudonville, N.Y. - Senior co-captains Amy Loughridge and Katie Goodwin were named 2007 All-MAAC selections announced yesterday at the league's postseason awards banquet in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Forward Tabitha Tice was selected the All-Rookie team following a stellar freshman campaign. The Saints also placed seven on the All-Academic squad for their superb efforts in the classroom. Loughridge, a four-time All-MAAC honoree, was named to the All-MAAC First Team. Loughridge started 17 games for the Saints at the center midfield position this season. She posted two goals and three assists for seven points. Loughridge moved into second place all-time appearing in 74 games over her career in Loudonville. Her 16 career assists rank third most in program history. Goodwin was named to the All-MAAC Second Team for the third consecutive year. The senior defender stood among the most consistent players in the back this season. Goodwin started all 18 games for the Saints and posted three assists. Her 73 career games played stands third all-time in program history just behind Loughridge. Tice was named to the league's All-Rookie team after posting a team-high 19 points on the year which ranked fifth most in the league. Her eight goals and three game winners tied for fourth overall. Tice was named MAAC Rookie of the Week twice during the 2007 campaign. Seven Siena student-athletes were also named to the league's All-Academic Team. Susie Blaisdell (Sr.-Exeter, N.H.-Psychology), Patti Carroll (Jr.-Middle Grove, N.Y.-Psychology), Amy Loughridge (Sr.-Guilderland, N.Y.-Economics), Chelsea Maguire (Jr.-Ballston Lake, N.Y.-Marketing and Management), Madeline Rickard (Sr.-Otisville, N.Y.-Marketing and Management), Shana Brady (Jr.-Brick, N.J.-English Education) and Kara Sefcik (Sr.-Poughkeepsie, N.Y.-History Education) were honored for their academic excellence.
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale. |
